The series revolves around captain james flint and serves as a prequel to the robert louis stevenson novel *treasure island* Yeah, that arc is the absolute lowest point of black sails S1 is generally the season with the worst bits (still amazing but hoo boi some plot things, the sexual violence arc, a lot of sex scenes and gratuitous sexualised nudity, the kinda shitty costumes.) luckily most of it stays in s1 and it really goes uphill from there. The rest of nude scenes in the show i had no issue with, and i wouldnt say the show is overly gratuitous otherwise There's not much else for me to say about it so i'll just agree to disagree at this point. The premise of black sails (what we see) is the war between the free yet frustrated or complacent pirates and civilization (specifically the kingdoms of england and spain)
