I'm curious on how different they are i understand that f1 is the original cross between veitchia and foxtail and f2 is foxy lady crossed back with either of the original parent's I have an f2 and am wondering how the look of the palm compares to f1 Also how f2 compares to f1 on their cold hard. John you are correct, the two foxy ladies in the photo at flecker gardens, one variegated and smaller, are from the very first batch of foxy lady palms cultivated and i understand mikey himself played a significant part in making the first seed observations of this hybrid palm which has entranced the palm community ever since. They say the foxy lady is a rocket but the growth rate appears to be the same as seedlings Erik, the foxtails were planted many months before the f1 foxyladies I have numerous large ones in the garden & i would say the foxladies grow more rapidly The only exception, would be the ones that are extremely variegated. This foxy lady palm is still standing despite the lean and creased oozing vertical stripe
It's getting close to the end for me though Since the lean is headed toward the overhead phone and cable lines (not power), i'll take it down before it comes down on its own.
