My fiance liked the idea of the tying of the knot ceremony It's not a nautical themed wedding and neither of us are in the navy, but he liked it. If so then hand tying is not for you Its a serious part of a wedding ceremony. We recently got married and we did the fisherman's knot ceremony during our wedding. My fiance and i are both irish, and because we're not having a religious ceremony we love the idea of incorporating a unique, special tradition into our day. My fiance and i are having a friend officiate our wedding in august, so we're working on writing the ceremony script together. I was considering a handfasting as a unity ceremony because i thought it would be meaningful for my fi, who is very interested in and connected to his scottish heritage
It was read recently at a wedding i went to and it was not a church wedding but the couple is catholic, and it was really sweet to incoporate The bride's mother read it and it was absolutely beautiful I think it is perfectly acceptable for a church ceremony Run it by your preist and see what he thinks.
