I am running a starfinder game for a couple friends and a science experiment went wrong and the gravity in a localized area (the abandoned planet) has doubled I want to know if the once earth like planet doubled its gravity would the surface melt due to the increase in pressure and consequently temperature and i want to know if the planet would shrink by a significant amount The only thing that matters is that the concepts could be reasonably found in a sf book, film or short story

It's why i prefer speculative fiction to science fiction or fantasy. there are lots of examples of games, books, movies, etc That blur the line between the two genres.
