If you are just pulling outward on the paddle, you'll have a tough time. As with any aftermarket safety it needs to be fitted to your 1911/2011 by a competent gunsmith to ensure reliable and safe functionality. The only reason for an ambi safety is to get safety on and off while the pistol is in your weak hand There's no need for that in competition Tactical use could be different.
