Dominican friars, southern province (st 10 men in the studium One is scheduled to be ordained a priest later this year, and maybe one or two deacons. The dominican friars of the western province ordained 3 priests this year
They ordain deacons in september, so there's nothing to report on that front at the moment On a side note, the ordaining prelate was bishop steven maekawa, op, himself a member of the western province He was consecrated the bishop of fairbanks, ak in october 2023 Of the fairbanks diocese, wikipedia says I am curious about where a certain order went. their name was the dominican sisters of bethany their apostolate was to visit women in prison and they also accepted women into community who had been in prison Their was a book written called, ten for sorrow, five for joy. it gave some insigh.
I'm sure their approach to a lot of different things about being a relgioius is slightly different I know dominican and francican friars but i've only met a few carmelite friars so i'm less familiar with them. I thought their charism was beautiful, to intercede for the world through the continual recitation for the rosary, every hour on the hour I believe there is a monastery of these dominican sisters in lukin, texas The incarnation is the central mystery for dominicans Dominican nuns have a great love for the holy eucharist and in the united states, especially, this is expressed by adoration, either perpetual or daily
And of course, the rosary Some monasteries (such as mine) have it perpetual with adoration It is called the adoring rosary. Does anyone know what happened after the dominican nuns left their doat street monastery a couple years ago and moved to ohio I can't find anything about them.
