I read that one way to extract it is to download unreal engine and after you install that, it comes with a pak extractor tool that you can use to extract pak files. Pak is a pretty general file extension that different engines use for chunks of data with rather different structures Sometimes it's basically a renamed zip file, sometimes it's some custom file format This is a previous discussion on the same topic, and it looks like a few people recommended some extractors that work on a variety of formats.
