Im fairly new to diesel trucks so go easy on me please. It sounded like the up pipe area so i crawled under and sure as shxt it is leaking big time down at the manifold Im wondering how bad this is gonna suck to change the gaskets, who should i get gaskets from, and what kind of gasket is down on the manifold? The oem “donut” gaskets used to seal these pipes are known for breaking down over time As they deteriorate, they allow exhaust gas to escape before reaching the turbocharger—significantly reducing boost pressure Soot buildup behind the turbo.
Turbo came off really easy including the up pipe collector to turbo union Once i got the turbo off i could see a big hole blown in the silver firewall liner. The 7.3 powerstroke is arguably ford's best engine There's just one problem.leaking up pipes They start to leak way sooner then they should, so today i'm changing out the old up pipe design.
